Emmaline LATTIN Betts was born near Ripley, Mississippi in 1838, to Andrew
Lattin, a white man; and Liza, a Choctaw. She was among those of the tribal removal of the Choctaws
over the "Trail of Tears." She met and married Ramsey Betts, referred to by many as,
"Uncle Ramsey", date unkown. After their marriage, they settled in the Indian Territory
near Blue River in a community known as Pleasant Hill. This information supplied by Letha Atteberry
